Looking Good!

Last night, one of Sydney's competition dances performed at the opening ceremonies of the Celebration games. All of the teams hard work & long hours paid off...their performance was great (that from an unbiased mom!!!). Even Lee was impressed. I think it gave the girls a boost of confidence...next weekend is their 1st of 3 competitions. Great job!!!

Keep Up the Good Work

Even though we recently wrote a similar post back in the fall, we want to continue recognizing Sydney's hard work at school. Four nights out of the week she comes home from a long day at school & dance, and then quicly eats dinner so that she can attend to her homework. She does get tired, but she manages to stay organized & get the work done on time & we are so proud of her. So, Sydney congratulations for making the Honor Roll again-way to go!!!

Diarama Daddy

Here we see Lee & Josie working on Josie's 1st school project, which was a diarama of a book she recently read. I like to think of Lee as the creative force behind this project while Josie executed the design. Josie created all the characters herself out of clay & then painted them...but with a few hang ups along the way (clay pieces accidentally breaking off) it was good to have her dad around to troubleshoot. Clearly, Lee enjoyed the process as much as Josie did.

Up and Running

Saturday morning with 3 kids going in 3 different directions. Sydney participated in a dance convention both Saturday & Sunday which had her out of the house before 7. Josie headed off to a soccer game & Griffin had a birthday party at my "favorite" post ibuprofen spot 'Chuck E. Cheese'. A highlight was when Griffin climbed up into the human habitrail (see above) & refused to come down. Everytime I signalled for him to come down he kept waiving to me & played air guitar...I never felt such relief as when he finally slid down the slide.

Working Hard

As parents we are always recognizing our children's achievements & progress at school & activities. It is really great when someone else notices the hard work & efforts that your child puts forth. This week Sydney was recognized (along with a fellow dancer) at dance as "Most Improved Star" for doing a round off back handspring on a hard floor (therefore being able to do it in a dance routine without a mat). This award has just started at her studio & the girls all scream with excitement each week when they find out who was awarded- which is great to see their support of one another. When Sydney 1st told us she was doing this without a mat, I was thinking of possible trips to the ER, but she has been very consistent, so I must let go & I am of course very proud of her.

The Concert Series Continues

We're moving on up. First, The Wiggles and now Hannah Montana/ Miley Cyrus. Lee & I took Sydney & Josie and I have to say we all had a great time. It came as no surprise, the level of noise probably 15-20,000 screaming adolescent girls can make. She put on a great show- quite impressive for a 15 year old. Bottom line - Josie & Sydney had alot of fun & Lee & I will always have a chuckle thinking about the time we had 3 computers rolling trying to get tickets online (unsuccessful I might add) & then how we casually went online days later & were able to get 4 seats together, no problem. For those of you who might be scared for the slippery concert slope Lee & I are on...have no fear- we have tickets to see Bruce Springsteen & The E. Street Band in April!

So Sweet

Sadly, Griffin had a fever & the stomach flu yesterday...fun times!!! But look how cute he looks here (how's that for looking at the bright side). This was the 1st time probably since he was 4 months old that he fell asleep on me...that's about it for the "up" side of having your baby sick. The fever has subsided, but he's still not eating. Lee & Griffie had a 'sick" day while I went to work- they always get sick on a day I work.
