Lola, you are walking on thin ice

Are you kidding me Lola? I found her drinking out of our nameless goldfish's bowl. Not sure if she was thirsty or hungry (she does have water out all the time). I get the whole circle of life/food chain thing going on, but now I know who to blame it on when the fish goes m.i.a.

"I am so BRAVE"

Griffin has been battling congestion & a cough for weeks...I have known it, but have been dragging my feet to take him in to confirm he has allergies/mild asthma. Before starting on meds, we are trying a few palliative treatments including nasal saline rinse. Lee was so against this because he thought Griffin would not tolerate it at all. Even the pharmacist I spoke with was not at all supportive because of that reason. But Griffin has proved them wrong. I think he enjoyed us cheering him on. Anyways, the 1st time around he took a break in the middle of the treatment & shouted out ..."I am so Brave". So funny & yes he is. Lee & I both tried it & are surprised that he is taking it like he is. Great news...we think it works...he has less sniffles & he says he feels less congested. Big yay.

Twice as nice

Poor Josie...she is a hair too short to ride the racecars by herself...but the cast members who stuck to the rules, let Josie & Mollye ride twice around & let them switch positions so that they could both get a chance to drive without waiting in line.

Dreams Really Do Come True

I cannot remember why Griffin was making a wish...but while we were at Disney he wished for a Buzz Lightyear toy. As soon as he opened his eyes, he sadly said it did not come true. While he was riding the racecars, Lee & I bought him one with a giftcard he received for his birthday in 2009! We left it in his stroller & when he saw it, he said "Dreams really do come true" which coincidentally is the theme for Disney this past year!!! Not to self: erase this post once Griffin learns to read.

Minnie as Martha

I decided to surprise the kids with a character breakfast at Liberty Tree Tavern when they had a day off from school. Debbie, Wayne, Norma & Mollye came with & we had a delicious breakfast. Wayne claims he had never been to The Magic Kingdom before. I love that we had a big breakfast and all of the kids said they were hungry 2 hours later!

On to the Happiest Place on Earth

The 2nd half of our Disney Bonanza was The Magic Kingdom. We got a 2nd wind- although we really never faded. We blazed through a few rides, had a nice dinner & were about to call it a day/night...when we decided topush on 'til closing. Griffin crashed but that actually made it easier...finally the rain came & we got soaked.Good times. Okay, we pretended we were tourists, made the most of it...2 parks in one day...probably not for awhile.

Ice cream

I am fairly confident I have paid atleast the cost of an annual past on ice cream treats at the park!!! I think Griffin feels as if it is not a day at a Disney park without a Mickey Premium or Itzakadoozi. But doesn't it say "we are having fun" (or "my feet are tired, I need a break").

Expedition Everest

Check out our expeditioners Sydney, Lee & Kathy (follow Kathy's hair)...so funny to watch their faces as they come out of the mountain. I told Lee I would reward him with an ice cream after the ride ...see next post!

Animal Kingdom

We started our Disney day @ Animal Kingdom with The Arce's...plenty to see & do. We had to pace ourselves if we were going to be in it for the long haul...usually we get in & out in a few hours, but today we wanted 2 parks & hang until closing!!!

Welcome Aiden Riley!

Thank you Melissa for making my job a bit easier! As great as it is to take care of a special friend during her pregnancy, I always hope that her labor/birth will be smooth because I have more at stake. Weeks of keeping my phone on at all times, at my bedside, checking in before a glass of wine or beer. I was shocked to get an early Sunday morning call from L&D saying she was there...11 days early. Hurray! No induction! He arrived on the coldest day of the year (so far)...and even waited while Sydney, Josie & I finished our shopping at The Loop!!! So cute ...and now I have returned the favor to Melissa after she has been a wonderful teacher to my girls for 2.5 years!!! Congrats Melissa & Amine...that was fun.

Happy New Year

I started out the New Year with a computer/camera glitch which has resolved thanks to Lee's computer inventory, so I missed many events to digitalize. But here we are...a little late. A very mellow New Years Eve- a ton of food, games, sparklers & 80% of us made it 'til midnight! The Arce came over for food, while The Robbins & Ericksons stopped over through their walk through East Village & then Debbie & Wayne stopped by. Goodbye to 2009...hello 2010! Can't wait to see what is in store for the next 12 months.
