Wait...one more celebration!

Sydney & Josie had been so lucky to be invited to Caroline Arce's 7th birthday sleepover at The Beach Club. So, we unpacked & unpacked & unpacked from camping & then headed over to The Beach & Yacht Club for what has now been the 3rd year in a row of celebrating some event with The Arce's at that hotel. Love the pool & then of course we all joined in for a Kitchen Sink ...and I have to say...this was the 1st time I remember finishing one...I guess we were all hungry. Did I mention I "crashed" I mean spent the night at the hotel too! The next morning was more swimming, walk around the boardwalk, just relaxing. Not too bad...the kids have been out of school for 11 days now & have stayed at 3 resorts.

Camping 'lite"- Sydney's 12th birthday party

Another excellent party suggestion by Sydney Lowell...& even though this was a repeat from her 8th birthday party (2005)- IMO it was much better- the weather, the girls were excellent, we threw a fun BBQ & we even had a huge air mattrees - although sleeping...not so much. Lee & I agree going to fort Wilderness is perfect for us...roughing it, but not really. No technology, yet not so far from home. Most of all, the kids love it. We will probably return for Griffin's b'day- when the weather won't be so hot & it won't be as crowded. So, we can temporarily put away the b'day decorations (for another 3 weeks). Sydney, as always...it has be great celebrating with you!

"Mommy, can you get me one of these?"

You know that phase (or is it just my kids) when they see something & ask "can you get me one of these?" Griffin is in that phase...& our hotel bathrooms had a tv on the counter...he loved watching tv in the bathroom- it was the perfect size!!! So funny. I even put him in the bathtub & he watched while taking a bath...doesn't get much better than that!!!

The kids & I got to have all the fun & Lee had to work..not fair but he did get to enjoy Sunday a.m. at the pool with us. We are so grateful that we got to tag along...I know we were a distraction at times, but I know he was glad we were there with him. Check him out with his NYMEX trading jacket on, from back in the day!!! and Griffin "making a trade" trying to be like his dad!!

Movie Night

The last night in Miami Lee had a dinner to attend & we had been up way too late the previous nights, so the kids & I had an early dinner & headed back to the room for what I hoped would be an early bedtime. We came acroos the movie "Adventures in Babysitting"...the 4 of us curled up in bed, order the "movie snacks" from roomservice & had a cozy Saturday night in! During this picture griffin was "singing the babysitting blues!"

The hotel had a great waterslide & the 1st day the attendent would not let Griffin go down b/c he was 1/4 inch too short- which set off a not so happy Griffin (whose been on much more intense slides0...but rules are rules & we dealt with it. but the next day we tried again & a much more laid back slide attendent & griffin was a "GO"..very fun & lots of screams & laughs!
