Camfire!

The 1st camfire of the season was moved indoors due to weather. But that did not stop Josie from having fun...look at that smile. Meanwhile, the one picture we found of Sydney was what we like to refer to as a "Mike Wazowski"- the monster from Monsters, Inc. who always had a photo of him covered by something else...someone's hand was in front of Sydney's face!!! Josie must be in heaven..sweatshirt & flannel pajama bottoms to a campfire!!!

Moops & Jo!!!

Cute picture from the days activities...waterskiing. Josie is wearing Megan's old sweatshirt!! The camp look is definitely on!

Midnight movie

Last night the campers were woken to a surprise!!! Midnight Movies!!! The girls got on the buses & travelled in town to watch Imagine That & The proposal. How fun. Blankets, slippers, pj's were the attire. Fortunately, they were able to sleep in today! Total funness (a word reserved for camp activities!!).

Livin' the life

Griffin is definitely reaping the benefits of having Josie & Sydney away at camp...all attention is on him & he is smart enough to take advantage of it! Breakfast in bed, lunches with his mom & dad all to himself. Playing whatever he wants, whenever. Choosing his tv shows! Snuggling all to himself. Better enjoy now Griffin!!!!

More Cabin Pictures

These must be the "official" cabin photos. We still have not heard from the girls yet...hopefully in the next day or two. But from the looks on their faces, all is well. I feel like I am on vacation myself...life with one kid has given us some breathing room. Lee & I miss Josie & Sydney so much, but we find ourselves talking about how happy we are for them & what a great experience this is going to be...so obviously, we are dying to hear from them.

Song-O-Rama

Yesterday rain caused a curveball in activities...so the back up plan was "Song-O-Rama" where each cabin works together to make up a new song by changing the lyrics & add choreography if desired. Hopefully, the sun will come out today, although it is supposed to be cold & rainy for a few days. Monday, it will be a high of 60- Josie & Sydney are in for a surprise! Yesterday afternoon they had a "surprise" social with a nearby boys camp.

Camp Activities

Thanks to a great camp Agawak website, we can see pictures of the campers each day & read about the days events. So, even though we have not heard from the girls we have a good idea of what is going on...this is priceless. It also helps that Megan has secretly been sending us texts at night (Josie & Sydney have no idea she has a phone there). Great news...the girls are having a blast- both are skiing off the long rope & are making friends & love their counselors. Not much more we can ask for. At home, things are quiter, neater...kind of boring. But we are so excited for them. Megan said taht Josie wrote 5 letters at rest period yesterday...impressive- cannot wait to hear from them.

For the 1st time ever, testoterone dominates

A few days without "the sisters" as griffin calls them. The house is quieter, cleaner, our grocery bill was way down. Even though we miss them...it is fun having Griffin. Today he played with Ben & our house was full of shooting sounds, sirens, wrestling. griffin is in h

is element. better take advantage of it, before he knows it...we'll be back to hair ties, dancing & chick flicks.

Josie's cabin

Camp Agawak - Photo Gallery

Lovin' those smiles!!!

Sydney's cabin!

Camp Agawak - Photo Gallery

The girls are off...

...to a great summer! It was an early morning, Lee, Sydney & Josie left the house at 4 a.m. fot the trip up to Agawak. Josie was a bit teary, but mostly excited. Sydney was very calm. I think we all just wanted camp to start already. The whole day I was so excited for them. when Lee called me after he dropped them off, he have nothing but positive things to say...but it started to sink in...we have to wait for that 1st letter to arrive to hear how they are doing!!! It is killing me. fortunately, teh camp has an amazing website & within hours we saw pictures of the girls with their cabin mates & a very detail letter from the director as to what the days activities were- tubing, swimming assessments, bbq, staff show, big sister assignments. I am getting a bit nostalgic. Both of my best friends from camp have already contacted me...we are all jealous. Nothing like a camp friendship. Will update with fun details from their summer. syd & Jo..totally miss you but you are going to have the time of your life!!!

S-U-R-P-R-I-S-E ! (bon voyage Sydney & Josie)

we thought it would be fun to surprise Josie & Sydney & get all their friends together to say "goodbye & have a great time at camp!" They had no clue, the surprise went off perfectly & it was fun to see all of the kids together (plus, we hadn't had cake in over a week!!!). All the girls wrote them goodbye cards & it was a perfect send off. Now on to the Wisconsin North woods, where I am sure the girls will make some new friends!!!

Remember the slip-n-slide?

we are slowly trying out the goodies from The Summer Fun basket...today we broke open the slip-n-slide. This was the highlight for our summers growing up...no major water parks in Cleveland Ohio!!! Somehow, it seemed easier to slide back in the '70's!!!! Probably because Florida is so flat. Nonetheless, Sydney, Josie & Griffin had alot of fun with it.

Happy Father's Day 2009

Happy Father's Day to all.Lee was very happy what he got.Griffin made him a shirt at hope's house at arts & crabs (griffin says) .We also got him colone for him he liked it alot and the last thing we got him is a giftcard to Sports Authority. This was written by Josie.

Lemonade...anyone, anyone?

I love how every summer my kids think they are going to get rich by selling lemonade. They have so much hope. Atleast this year they had the good sense to find a shady spot. This is also the 1st year Griffin is getting in on the business. Sydney, has wised up & decided not to partake. We do have some generous neighbors...thankfully.

Griffin, is it too hot out to wear a bathing suit?

Griffin was enjoying the pool, which I guess is now clothing optional for the under4 crowd. He wanted to try out our new raft, which is enjoyable!

A close shave

Griffin decided he needed to shave like his daddy. Good thing he grabbed a spoon & not a fork or knife. I am happy to report his skin is smooth as ever!!!

More s'mores!!!

It is a shame to waste marshmallows, so we made more s'mores with our leftovers from camping. Since we do not have a fire pit at our house...we opted for the grill. Some of us were more successful than others at browning them...but we decided no matter how brown...they all taste great!

Update on swimming

The update is this...Griffin is doing great. He now can take a breath & keep swimming, so he is able to cross the pool. However, he is not so in to it this session. The child who wanted to take swim lessons forever is now over it. We have 3 more lessons this session & since his instructor is off to college, I think we will also take a brief break!

Ahhhh...the pool

Today felt like the 1st official day of summer for me. No dental, doctor or orthodontic appts. No shopping for camp. I did not work & I got to lounge in bed this a.m. We met Dee & Beth at the Artisan Park pool (delightful) for an afternoon swim.
