Seeing Gold

Way to Go Sydney & the entire In Motion Dance Project. Awesome job by all - the long hours & hard work paid off. All 3 of Sydney's dances scored "High Gold" & two of the placed 1st & 3rd in the 9-11 overall category. Here are a few pictures, not so great due to the movement. Hopefully, more to follow as IMDP has a few more competitions coming up in the next few weeks.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to all. We started the day with a breakfast party- since the girls were dancing late this week due to Sydney's competition schedule, this was the only time we would all be home at the same time. Sugar, sugar & more sugar throughout the day. Good times!

20 Years!

This past week Lee & I "celebrated" 20 years together. We've actually know one another for over 21 years, but it has been 20 years since our 1st date. We definitely remember the night well. There was a freezing Vermont Blizzard, a keg, a party in friends' dorm room followed by a trip downtown to the bars & finally, digging a friends car out of the snow with our hands. So romantic. This picture is not from that night, but since there were so many that followed just like the 1st night, I found this one, where many of the same friends were with us...I actually think this picture was taken several years later, possibly in NYC, but the point is to recreate the feel of that night!!! Looking back, we would NEVER have thought that that night would be the beginning of a long, fun, adventure filled relationship.

Rock Star!!!

Griffin is obsessed with playing the Guitar. Here he came running in the room when he heard "Play Your Guitar With Murray" (The Wiggles) so he could play his guitar with Murray. Lately, we've had to "introduce" him & he hides in another room & comes racing in with his guitar- quite the performer. The other night when we went to watch Sydney dance he was running around the gym not paying attention to any of the performances until 2 bands came on & he sat mesmorized-I think earplugs may be in our future!!

Goalie Girl

Here's our girl Jo, is her natural habitat...the soccer field. Lately, she has been trying out the position of goalie. Yikes, I'd rather see her running up & down the field, but she loves it.

Cheering at the Celebration Games

After The Opening Ceremony for The Celebration Games, the kids decided to cheer on fellow neighbors at a softball game. The Celebration games is basically a mini Olympics where the different Villages of Celebration compete...our team is the East Village Pirates! Some of the various events are soccer, basketball, softball, swimming, BINGO!!!, ping pong, tennis and flag football. Some people take it pretty seriously. It is another great event to get people out in this town.

Looking Good!

Last night, one of Sydney's competition dances performed at the opening ceremonies of the Celebration games. All of the teams hard work & long hours paid off...their performance was great (that from an unbiased mom!!!). Even Lee was impressed. I think it gave the girls a boost of confidence...next weekend is their 1st of 3 competitions. Great job!!!

Keep Up the Good Work

Even though we recently wrote a similar post back in the fall, we want to continue recognizing Sydney's hard work at school. Four nights out of the week she comes home from a long day at school & dance, and then quicly eats dinner so that she can attend to her homework. She does get tired, but she manages to stay organized & get the work done on time & we are so proud of her. So, Sydney congratulations for making the Honor Roll again-way to go!!!

Diarama Daddy

Here we see Lee & Josie working on Josie's 1st school project, which was a diarama of a book she recently read. I like to think of Lee as the creative force behind this project while Josie executed the design. Josie created all the characters herself out of clay & then painted them...but with a few hang ups along the way (clay pieces accidentally breaking off) it was good to have her dad around to troubleshoot. Clearly, Lee enjoyed the process as much as Josie did.

Up and Running

Saturday morning with 3 kids going in 3 different directions. Sydney participated in a dance convention both Saturday & Sunday which had her out of the house before 7. Josie headed off to a soccer game & Griffin had a birthday party at my "favorite" post ibuprofen spot 'Chuck E. Cheese'. A highlight was when Griffin climbed up into the human habitrail (see above) & refused to come down. Everytime I signalled for him to come down he kept waiving to me & played air guitar...I never felt such relief as when he finally slid down the slide.
